Medical Care Denied to Nasrollah Falahi Under Pretext of Not Wearing Prison Clothes

Prison authorities prevented Nasrollah Falahi from being sent for medical treatment under the pretext that he was not wearing prison clothes.

Nasrollah Falahi, along with his children Arghavan and Ardavan, were arrested by security forces during the nationwide protests of 1401 and remain in Evin Prison in an indefinite status.

Despite Nasrollah Falahi’s multiple illnesses, including digestive problems, joint pain in the lower back and knee areas, meniscus injury, and cataracts, he has been denied medical care. Notably, despite a previously scheduled appointment for his medical treatment and his transfer to the hospital, prison authorities used the pretext of Mr. Falahi not wearing prison clothes to prevent his transfer to the hospital and denied him permission to be sent to the hospital.

After several months have passed since Mr. Falahi’s arrest along with his children, not only have they not been informed of the charges against them, but they remain in Evin Prison in poor physical condition with no medical care and in an indefinite status.

Many of those arrested during the nationwide protests remain in various prisons after 9 months have passed, still in an indefinite status without knowledge of the charges against them or the verdicts issued.
