Multiple Gunshots Permanently Robbed Matin Manani of His Eyesight

“Matin Manani” permanently lost his eyesight after being struck by bullets fired by the regime’s forces in his eyes.
Matin Manani is a 25-year-old computer engineering student from Sari. Matin was targeted by multiple buckshot pellets on September 29, 2022, and as a result of being struck by bullets in the back and front of his head, as well as in his eyes, he lost his eyesight. Matin has undergone several surgical operations to remove pellets from his body, but these surgeries and the back-and-forth visits over the course of six months have left him with only enormous medical costs and the pain of lost vision.
According to “Majid Kaveh,” Matin Manani’s lawyer, that unforgettable night Matin went to the city center to shop, and when he reached the municipality square, special forces and riot control officers in black armor uniforms attacked the crowd gathered in the square. Matin moved toward the Sabzeimedan Park to distance himself from the crowd, but as soon as he reached the entrance of the park’s south side, he heard the sound of several gunshots from a close distance and involuntarily fell to the ground, feeling intense burning in his eyes.
According to Matin’s lawyer’s statement, Matin was shot from the front and back, and there are still many pellets remaining in his head, face, neck, chest, abdomen, arms, and hands, which are clearly visible in his radiographic images. Matin’s critical condition caused the emergency ward of “Amir Mazandaran” Hospital in Sari to refuse his admission and transfer him to “Bu-Ali Sina” Hospital.
It should be noted that due to the severity of injuries to Matin’s eyes and body, the lack of specialized ophthalmologists, and the absence of complete ophthalmological equipment at Bu-Ali Sina Hospital, Matin was transferred to “Farabi” Eye Hospital in Tehran.
Unfortunately, after six months of multiple surgeries and the destruction of Matin’s optic nerves, he has now permanently lost his eyesight.
Matin Manani is just one of thousands of young people who lost their eyesight as a result of the crimes of the Islamic Republic regime. An event that history will never consign to oblivion, but will instead narrate the valor of Iran’s courageous men and women.
