Natural Resources Officer Assaulted in Kordkoy
On Thursday, the 28th of Mordad, a natural resources protection officer in Kordkoy County, Golestan Province, was assaulted with an axe by an environmental violator.
According to Harana news agency, citing Mehr, the head of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Office in Kordkoy County reported the assault on the natural resources officer by a violating herder in the county.
The head of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Office in Kordkoy County explained the incident: “This afternoon on Thursday, a violating herder was illegally lopping branches and feeding livestock in one of the forests on the outskirts of Kordkoy when the natural resources officer of Kordkoy County, after warning him, was assaulted with axe blows.”
Amin Kiaa stated: “This natural resources officer was injured and was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but fortunately his general condition has been reported as stable.”
