Official COVID-19 Statistics in Iran; 227 Deaths and Over 15,000 New Cases

The Iranian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that 227 more COVID-19 patients died in the country during the 24-hour period ending at noon on Wednesday.

According to the announcement by the Ministry of Health’s Public Relations and Information Center, during the same period, 15,340 new COVID-19 patients were identified in Iran, of whom 2,333 were hospitalized in medical centers across the country.

With today’s reported figures included, the official number of coronavirus patients in Iran reached 6,998,975 people, and the total death toll from the disease reached 135,726 people.

Currently, 3,984 COVID-19 patients in Iran are under care in the intensive care units of hospitals.

Official COVID-19 statistics are announced daily by Iran’s Ministry of Health, while the accuracy of these figures is seriously questioned by independent sources.

Currently, 337 cities in Iran are in red status, 64 cities are in orange status, 47 cities are in yellow status, and no cities are in blue status.
