President of European Parliament: We Stand with the Brave Women and Men in Iran

The President of the European Parliament announced that we stand with brave women and men in Iran who have risen up for equality, human dignity, and freedom.
“Roberta Metsola,” President of the European Parliament, in a speech on Monday, September 20, regarding the approaching anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death by the regime, said: “This week marks September 16, the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death in Iran. We are reminded once again that the European Parliament stands with pride alongside those brave women and men who rose up in Iran for equality, human dignity, and freedom. Just as we stand with those who kept the light of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement burning even from inside prison cells.”
While referring to Narges Mohammadi, Bahareh Hedayat, Nasrin Javadi, Golrokh Iraní, Sepideh Qolian, and other civil and political activists imprisoned in prison, she strongly condemned the taking hostage of European citizens and dual-nationality citizens, and called for the immediate release of European official Johan Flodorus and Professor Ahmad Reza Jalali.
In concluding her remarks, she announced that this place will be a memorial to Mahsa Amini’s legacy and all those who paid the highest price for freedom.
