Qom: Two Traditional Coffeehouses Shut Down Over ‘Hijab Violations’

Hrana News Agency – Two traditional coffeehouses have been shut down in Qom city due to what was described as “hijab violations” and “mixing of boys and girls.” The owners were also summoned to the Police Department of Places.

According to Hrana News Agency citing Fararu, two traditional coffeehouses in Qom city have been sealed.

In this report, the reason for shutting down these commercial establishments was cited as “hijab violations” and “mixing of boys and girls.” The owners of these coffeehouses were also summoned to the Police Department of Places.

Based on this report, a warning notice was issued for another coffeehouse by Qom’s Police Department of Places.

In this report, citing the Public Relations of the Qom Province Basij, it states: “Cleansing and supervision of coffeehouses and cafes with harmful activities was carried out by the Police Department of Places and the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice front of Tharallah headquarters through 12 supervisory teams.”

It should be noted that entering the private sphere of citizens and interfering in their personal affairs are among the criticisms directed at Iran’s judicial and administrative system.
