Suicide of 17-Year-Old Teenager in Sanandaj

On Wednesday, July 22, a 17-year-old teenage boy in Sanandaj took his own life by consuming pills. The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported at over 7 percent by the Legal Medicine Organization.

According to Hrana news agency, the news organ of the collective of human rights activists in Iran, on Wednesday, July 22, 2022, a teenage boy in Sanandaj took his own life.

The identity of this teenager, “Arian (Aria) Khani, son of Nametagh Khani, 17 years old and a resident of Sanandaj,” has been verified by Hrana.

He took his own life by consuming pills and lost his life.

There is no precise information available about the reasons and motives for this teenager’s suicide.

Hrana had previously submitted a report examining the statistics of suicide among children and teenagers in Kurdistan Province over the past year.

The share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides has been reported at over 7 percent by the Legal Medicine Organization.
