A Society is Hellish When People Cannot Trust Their Media and Press

“Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli” in his remarks stated that a society in which people cannot trust their media and press is a hellish one.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, the source of emulation for Shia Muslims, in his meeting with secretaries of Qur’an and Ahl al-Bayt associations across the country said: “When in a society, people cannot trust the media, press, the masses and their gatherings, such a society is a hellish one, not a heavenly society.”
According to his statements, in a society where absence of truth, lying, defamation of others, speaking ill and speaking against one another exist, no trust will be established in society, and such a society is nothing but unstable and hellish.
He also added regarding the duty of commanding good, which has recently been discussed in relation to mandatory hijab: “If someone violates it, we have a duty as commanding good and forbidding evil to tell them and stop them, and this is a good thing. When we present it to them, whether they accept it or not, we have fulfilled our duty and no problem will arise. But if we do not fulfill the duty of commanding good and forbidding evil that is obligatory upon us, it is an evil against evil! You cannot prevent evil with evil, you cannot prevent badness with badness. In such a society, people will not have trust and confidence in anything, and society will turn into a hellish one, which is what has happened now.”
