“Commander Radan”: Those Responsible for Hijab Are Not Fulfilling Their Duties

Commander Radan stated regarding the issue of hijab that those responsible for hijab have not fulfilled their duties and have even become complainants themselves.

Ahmad Reza Radan, Commander of the National Police Force of the country, during his visit to Qom on Thursday, Ordibehesht 6, regarding hijab and commanding right, said: “There are 32 organizations responsible for the issue of hijab and chastity, but unfortunately some of them are not fulfilling their duties and have even become complainants in this regard. The enemy is also trying to claim that the police are alone in implementing the hijab and chastity plan.”

He refrained from providing detailed information about these institutions that have taken action to collect money for imposing mandatory hijab on people but are not performing their duties. He continued his remarks about how the police deal with women regarding hijab, saying: “One of the accusations leveled against the police force is that the police only pay attention to the issue of hijab and chastity, which is not the case.”

The Islamic Republic government, since Farvardin 25 of this year, returned morality police to the streets and, under the title of “Light Plan,” began harsh treatment of Iranian women. The behavior of police and plainclothes forces in confronting women opposed to hijab has been so severe that it has even provoked protests from some regime officials.

Ahmad Reza Radan, in defense of the mentioned violence, said that in the implementation of the Light Plan, we have a challenging path, but the police force does not have a security perspective on this matter. Commander Radan made these statements while the Secretary of the Commanding Right Headquarters on Ordibehesht 2 of this year, while criticizing the behavior of morality police in the new wave of the new plan on Iranian streets, said: “In the Light Plan, it is a security matter and the police command is directly involved with this plan.”

Ibrahim Raisi also, in his remarks a few days ago regarding the issue of hijab, said: “The issue of chastity and hijab is a religious, legal, and political obligation regarding which there is no doubt whatsoever.”

Although Ahmad Reza Radan in his statements did not mention the names of those responsible for imposing mandatory hijab, the ISNA news agency, after publishing Ahmad Reza Radan’s statements, published a list of 23 institutions responsible for commanding right as follows: “Ministries of Interior, Health and Medical Education, Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Welfare, Education, Economic Affairs and Finance, Ministry of Science, Communications, Roads and Urban Development, Sports and Youth, Culture and Islamic Guidance, Industry, Mines and Trade, and Cultural Heritage, Islamic Propaganda Organizations, Welfare, Radio and Television and Budget and Planning, Deputy of Women and Family Affairs, Judiciary, Islamic Consultative Assembly, Headquarters for the Revival of Commanding Right, Municipality, and Police Command.”
