Economic Protests in Iran; Gatherings of Retirees, Tax Officials and Farmers in Several Provinces

Continuing economic protests in Iran, oil industry retirees held simultaneous protest gatherings in several cities. At the same time, farmers took to the streets in Isfahan and telecommunications retirees gathered in the capital, demanding their professional grievances be addressed.
Protest gatherings took place on Tuesday, April 12, in the cities of Shiraz, Arak, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Abadan, Yazd, Hamadan, and Ardabil.
Telecommunications retirees in Tehran took to the capital’s streets with slogans “Death to the oppressor” and “Cry out against all this injustice.”
However, according to reports, the gathering of telecommunications retirees in Tehran was met with violence and arrests of protesters by law enforcement.
