Moderna: Our Vaccine’s Effectiveness Duration is Likely Two Years

The CEO of Moderna said on Thursday that the company’s COVID-19 vaccine would likely protect recipients against coronavirus for up to two years at most.

Stephan Bancel, however, said that a definitive assessment has not yet been reached on this matter.

He said the vaccine is also effective against the mutated variants of the virus in Britain and South Africa.

According to Bancel, the pharmaceutical company is capable of producing between 600 million to one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the current calendar year.

Moderna’s vaccine has recently received authorization for use in the European Union.

Currently, several pharmaceutical companies in the United States, Europe, Russia, and China are working to produce coronavirus vaccines.
