Over 11,000 Annual Deaths from Air Pollution in Iran

The head of the Air Health and Climate Change group at the Ministry of Health stated: Annually, 11,000 deaths in Iran are attributed to air pollution, with 8.9 percent of natural deaths also occurring due to air pollution.

He added: Studies show that the cause of deaths in 6.5 percent of heart attacks, 8 percent of strokes, and 11 percent of lung cancer is due to air pollution.

Moreover, we have 486,682 years of life lost annually due to air pollution, which requires serious attention, and there is an annual cost of 5.7 billion dollars for premature deaths attributed to air pollution. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and the Oil Ministry must end their games, as the Ministry of Industry says the fuel produced is not standard, while the Oil Ministry believes that manufactured vehicles are not standard.
