Sound Bomb Explosion in Vehicle Deprives Danial of His Sight

Government agents threw a sound bomb into Danial’s car and detonated it, robbing him of his eyesight.

Since the beginning of the protests and popular uprising, we have witnessed suppression, killings, executions, blindness, and many other crimes committed by the regime against the Iranian people. Many have lost their sight due to direct gunfire aimed at their faces and eyes.

Over the past several months, regime forces have shot at faces, heads, and women’s reproductive organs, as well as firing multiple buckshot pellets at men. This has not only deprived them of their vision and beauty but has also devastated their entire lives.

Each passing day reveals more crimes by the Islamic Republic regime. While many have lost their eyes to gunfire, images recently circulated on social media and reported by “Iran Wire” have revealed yet another crime by the regime—another person has now lost their eyesight due to a sound bomb explosion.

Danial, 48 years old, whose identity is protected for security reasons, lost his sight in December 2022 as a result of regime attacks following the protests. He not only lost his eyes and his job, but the lives of his wife, mother, children, and his entire family have been affected by this crime.

On one of the nights of the December 2022 uprising, Danial was stopped in his car at a red light. Danial was behind the wheel with one of his friends sitting beside him. The darkness of the night and the crowd of people chanting slogans against the regime prompted drivers to honk their horns in protest.

Danial says: “We were in the first lane, and armed forces were shooting people with buckshot rifles. It was very crowded, and the officers sometimes aimed their weapons at the cars, targeting the vehicles in the first lane and breaking the car windows. I moved the car to the third lane and was passing through a green light when suddenly a sound bomb was thrown at us. The driver’s side window broke and the bomb fell inside the car, exploding directly under my mirror.

It was a horrifying scene. When the window shattered, my face and head were covered in blood, and the sound bomb explosion caused severe damage to my eyes.”

The situation of Danial and others like him is only a small glimpse of the regime’s crimes. Many remain hidden due to families being threatened by the regime, as if the regime does not realize that time will reveal everything, just as it has so far. All these crimes only bring the fall of the Islamic Republic regime closer.

It should be noted that after surgery, Danial’s eyelids remain closed, and his vision status has not yet been fully determined.
