Transition Plan for Iran: Prince Reza Pahlavi’s Program for the Future After the Islamic Republic

Planning a transition plan for Iran by Prince Reza Pahlavi is a program aimed at preventing a power vacuum and preparing the country for a future after the Islamic Republic.

In recent years, discussions about Iran’s political future and possible scenarios for the post-Islamic Republic era have been raised more than ever before. Many political activists, experts, and opposition groups have attempted to present plans and proposals on how to manage the transition period and prevent political and economic instability following a change in Iran’s political system.

One of the plans proposed in this regard is a program presented by Reza Pahlavi for managing the transitional phase after the Islamic Republic. This plan, aimed at preventing a power vacuum, maintaining order, and preparing the country for the formation of a new political system, includes structures for the temporary administration of the country and reconstruction programs.

According to the perspective presented by Reza Pahlavi, the most important challenge of any major political change is managing the transition period. The experience of many countries shows that the collapse of a political system without a clear plan for governing the country can lead to instability, economic crisis, and even internal conflicts.

Based on this, the transition plan focuses on several main axes:

  • Establishing a temporary structure for governing the country
  • Maintaining security and preventing the collapse of administrative institutions
  • Providing conditions for holding free elections
  • Beginning the process of economic and institutional reconstruction of the country

This program, introduced under the name “Iran Flourishing Project,” aims to present a roadmap for rebuilding Iran’s political, economic, and social structures.

In this plan, an institution called the “Transition System” has been envisioned, whose task will be the temporary administration of the country following the change in the political system.

According to released explanations, this system comprises a group of Iranian managers, experts, and specialists from inside and outside the country who are being prepared to manage different sectors of the country during the transition period.

The process of selecting members of this structure is conducted by reviewing the professional, specialized, and managerial backgrounds of individuals so they can play roles in areas such as economy, security, state administration, and foreign policy.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, following the severe weakening of the Islamic Republic government after repeated attacks by Israel and America against Iran, released a message regarding the post-transition period addressed to the Iranian people:

“Dear compatriots,

To ensure that Iran does not face a disruption in the administration of the country upon the collapse of the Islamic Republic, two important tasks have been undertaken simultaneously over the past months.

First, drafting a clear program for governing the country within the framework of the “Iran Flourishing Project,” and second, identifying and selecting worthy men and women to participate in the “Transition System” and implement this program.

In this process, many compatriots with valuable experience and expertise needed by our country have expressed their readiness to participate in rebuilding the country and serving the nation.

This process has been carried out within the framework of the Committee for Review and Selection of Transition System Members, which is managed by Dr. Saeed Ghassemi-Nejad. Within this framework, in recent months, capable individuals from inside and outside the country have been identified and reviewed for overseeing various sections of the Transition System.

The Transition System, under my leadership, will be ready to take charge of governing the country immediately upon the collapse of the Islamic Republic, and in the shortest possible time, establish order, security, freedom, and the conditions for prosperity and flourishing in Iran.

Long live Iran.”

He also spoke about his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, saying: “Both Ukraine and Iran are facing occupation; Ukraine with foreign occupiers and we with domestic occupiers. My team and I, along with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team, discussed how we can stand together and cooperate in the struggle for freedom. History is with us, and light will ultimately triumph over darkness.”

In some recent political statements, Reza Pahlavi has also drawn parallels between the Iranian people’s struggle against the Islamic Republic government and the Ukrainian people’s resistance against Russian invasion.

In his meetings and discussions with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, he has spoken about the possibility of cooperation and solidarity among freedom-seeking movements. This comparison has been more symbolic in nature and has been presented with the aim of drawing international attention to Iran’s political situation.

The transition plan presented by Reza Pahlavi is an attempt to answer one of the most important questions about Iran’s political future: if the Islamic Republic changes, how will the country be governed?

The proposal to establish a “Transition System” and draft the “Iran Flourishing Project” demonstrates that part of the opposition is working to present a practical program for managing the transition phase. However, the implementation of such plans in practice depends on multiple factors, including the level of social support, coordination among different political forces, and domestic and international conditions at the time political changes occur.
