Trump and His Wife Test Positive for Coronavirus

Hours after the US President announced that he needed to quarantine following Hope Hicks’ positive coronavirus test, his aide, Donald Trump announced that he and his wife have also contracted coronavirus.

Donald Trump tweeted that following Hope Hicks’ positive COVID-19 test, he and Melania Trump, his wife, have been tested for coronavirus and are awaiting the results of their test.

The US President emphasized in this tweet that he and his wife are beginning the quarantine process.

Now Mr. Trump has announced in another tweet that his coronavirus test and that of Melania, his wife, have also come back positive.

In this tweet, he wrote that along with his wife, he is immediately beginning quarantine and “together we will overcome this illness”.

Meanwhile, some news sources in America have raised the possibility that Mike Pence, Donald Trump’s Vice President, should also go into quarantine, since he was with Mr. Trump over the past two days and there is a possibility that his test may also come back positive.

A White House informed source had previously announced that Hope Hicks, one of the senior advisors to the US President, tested positive for coronavirus.

According to Reuters, Hope Hicks traveled on Tuesday with Donald Trump and other senior White House officials on the presidential aircraft, “Air Force One”, to the site of the presidential election debate in Cleveland, Ohio.

In this regard, television footage shows that Hope Hicks was also accompanied by Donald Trump on the helicopter that brought the US President from the White House.

The Associated Press also states that Hope Hicks is a close aide to Donald Trump and has accompanied the US President on many trips.

Meanwhile, some reports indicate that Hope Hicks traveled to Minnesota with the US President after Cleveland, Ohio to attend an election rally. According to these reports, Hope Hicks showed symptoms of COVID-19 on Wednesday upon returning to Washington.

Hope Hicks is now quarantined at home.

Previously, a number of Donald Trump’s senior aides had also contracted coronavirus, but the US President did not quarantine himself.

According to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in America, those who have been exposed to the coronavirus or an individual infected with this virus should quarantine themselves for 14 days.
