Young Protester Javad Rouhee Killed in Nowshahr Prison

Javad Rouhee, a protester arrested during nationwide demonstrations, was killed in Nowshahr Prison.
Javad Rouhee was a 35-year-old young man among those arrested during nationwide protests who was detained by regime forces on September 21, 2022, and spent 11 months in provisional detention and uncertainty. He was sentenced to death three times by the judicial system, and his sentence was theatrically overturned by the Supreme Court following media pressure and efforts by human rights activists.
According to news sources at Ava Today, Javad Rouhee was killed in Nowshahr Prison, and prison officials are attempting to portray this crime as “drug-induced suicide.” Officials are once again turning to their worn-out scenario of suicide to divert public attention and cover up their crime.
Prison authorities have refrained from announcing Javad Rouhee’s death to prevent crowds from gathering outside the prison, and have even cancelled all visits scheduled for today.
As the anniversary of the revolutionary uprising approaches, the crimes of the Islamic Republic government are once again gaining momentum, and arrested individuals, lawyers, civil activists, and others are being punished and killed one after another.
